“SteelPro, Supply Chain Management Served Family Style”
Featuring – Mike McIntosh – Vice President / General Manager, SteelPro

SteelPro, a family owned business, is dedicated to serving the steel industry with the best steel transportation and warehousing services available to the steel distribution marketplace. Customers of SteelPro benefit from their experience and metals industry knowledge that comes from two generations working within the steel industry.

The SteelPro group is comprised of independently operated companies with over 40 years of expertise in the transport and storage of steel and steel-related products.  As a successful innovator of integrated programs they have become benchmarks in material movement, SteelPro provides proactive solutions for today's steel suppliers while anticipating future customer demands.

SteelPro's model to distribution for the marketplace integrates high-volume rail facilities, state-of-the-art storage and the latest technology in trucking equipment to maximize the considerable advantages of their geographic locations for time-sensitive deliveries.  Reliable computerized systems, including EDI and internet based communications, monitor dedicated storage and trucking equipment, assure their customers that material is tracked properly and afford flexibility to operate in a real-time environment.

SteelPro warehousing affiliates incorporate bundled service packages - inbound rail service, storage and local delivery.  Specialized logistics and unit trains provide overnight delivery to our storage locations.  High-volume rail accessibility at our warehouses speeds unloading, reduces weather exposure and facilitates material availability.  The resulting cost savings enhance our customers' profitability.

The SteelPro fleet, which includes independent owner/operators, is specially equipped to ensure material is properly loaded and according to customer specifications.  Trucking equipment is closely monitored and inspected by a full time Safety Department.  The strategic placement of its transportation agents positions SteelPro to move material originating in the Midwest to key customer destinations all across the United States.

Our guest speaker – Mike McIntosh has worked for SteelPro for all of his16 years in the metals industry.  He is responsible for the warehousing division of SteelPro which includes over 1 million square feet of storage space dedicated to steel producers and their customers.  Mike manages the commercial and operational portions as well as directs the administrative staff at each of SteelPro’s five warehouse locations.  He received his MBA from Michigan State University and resides in Ann Arbor, MI with his wife Lisa and three college aged daughters.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear the SteelPro story of how one family has come to offer critical services to steel producers, service centers and end-users in today’s metals supply chain.
