Association of Steel Distributors Names

2006 Board of Directors

CHICAGO The Association of Steel Distributors (ASD) announced its recently elected 2006 Board of Directors at the Annual Conference located in Acapulco, Mexico, March 25-28. The board of directors provides strategic direction for the organization and drive headquarters staff initiatives.

The new president of ASD is Mr. Dominic Vitucci, Jr., president of Vitco Steel Supply Corporation, a family owned steel service center and distributor located presently in Dixmoor, Illinois. Dominic Jr. began his career at the company, spending his first few years running shears, slitters and edging lines before being promoted to sales in 1982. Dominic is President/CEO of the company since his father’s passing in 2003. At present they have five slitters and one cut-to-length line adding value to HRP&O, CR, GALV and Pre-Painted low carbon steel.

Previously, Vittuci served the ASD Board of Directors as executive vice president. As president of ASD, Dominic plans to continue to increase the membership drive by offering quality speakers and presentations at all regional meetings, conventions and conferences and to implement a mentoring program for young executives within the industry.

“I feel that the ASD has been instrumental to the growth of Vitco Steel Supply Corp., thanks to the wonderful opportunity I have had to network with fellow industry executives from across the country and internationally,” Vitucci said. “I would like to make sure that this opportunity is not missed by others in our industry. I also look forward to working with the Board of Directors to create a stronger association with the help of its members.

“Dominic will be an excellent leader for the association, as well as the 2006 ASD Board,” said Ron Pietrzak, ASD executive director. “He is an extremely passionate, dedicated industry professional, and I look forward to working with Dominic at this level.”
